Earlier this month, Liz participated in AIA in the Schools. The committee teamed up with Ms. Gloe's 3rd grade class at Hale Elementary in South Minneapolis to help build and design dream homes with the ambitious students. The task was similar to the game of 'Life' - each student was able to pick a career and was given an annual income. After understanding typical expenses, they were able to take out a loan to help them afford their perfect home. Liz volunteered for the afternoon to partner up with a few students who found images they wanted to replicate. Based on their loan, Liz and her students were given a certain amount of milk cartons to work with. As a team, they utilized only milk cartons, cardboard, and hot glue to create some masterpieces the students could call home.
